Services
Under the CDM Regulations 2024, designers and contractors carry their own legal duties for safety and health. CDMS Consultancy provides practical support services to Principal Construction Work Designers (PCWD), Construction Work Designers (CWD) and Principal Construction Work Contractors (PCWC) on projects across Malaysia.
PCWD support services
The PCWD plans, manages, monitors and coordinates health and safety during the pre-construction phase, so that design risks are eliminated or reduced, and information on remaining risks is passed on. We support PCWDs with design risk review workshops, coordination between design disciplines, design risk registers and the information handed to the PCWC and the client.
CWD support services
Each CWD applies the General Principles of Prevention (GPP) in their own design to eliminate or reduce risks, and passes on information about remaining risks. We help design teams apply GPP consistently and record residual risks clearly, so the information is useful to the people who build, maintain and use the structure.
PCWC support services
The PCWC plans, manages, monitors and coordinates health and safety during the construction phase, including coordination between their own sub-contractors, designers and specialists, and reviews residual risks before work starts. We support PCWCs with pre-construction reviews, residual risk reviews, method statement and high-risk activity approvals, design change reviews during construction, and close-out documentation.
Closing the gaps between design and construction
Most CDM gaps appear at handover points: when design information reaches the contractor without clear residual risk notes, or when design changes during construction are not reviewed for safety. Our certified CDM Professionals keep information flowing between every duty holder. Learn more in our CDM Regulations 2024 guide or about our CDM Professional services.
